Chaps, thinking about buying a used, low mileage Edge or Kodiaq but struggling with the choice. Looking at spending about 25k for a low mileage vehicle and the Edge is just taking the lead at the moment.
Anyone have any experience with either vehs? Many thanks

Neither, but the Edge even because it drives like a sponge and I'm a Ford fan so don't say this lightly.

Get yourself an estate, bigger boot, car like handling dynamics, quieter, much much cheaper on fuel, quicker at the lights and cost less to service and maintain, less likely to tip in a crash.

Definitely get off the SUV horse and get a big estate.

Had a look at an Edge that one of our reps has; given the money that things costs, I thought the interior was woeful, just a sea of poor quality black plastic.

Well my original thought was for an A 4/6 Avant or 3 / 5 series touring but the the long-haired general doesn't feel confident in a 'low', large vehicle but thinks a higher driving position will be fine for her.

(I can't work it out either.....)

Doesn't feel confidant in a 'low car'? She should have her licence taken away.

So women feel "safer" in a big SUV. None of them can park the flamin things. Go to any supermarket car park and look at all the door dents and scratches on the SUV's. The repair and body work costs will drive you mad, not to mention the fact that parking will be a constant headache.

Then she'll complain that the load sill is too high and she can't get the pushchair in, or the tail gate is too heavy or the dent in the door is not her fault.

The bigger the car the bigger the liability.

Put your foot down and be a man. Look do you want to be one of those check shirt wearing 'dads' driving around in an ocean liner of an SUV being overtaken by all those trendy cool looking guys in sporty AWD estates, being burnt off at the lights by a Corsa? Having to slow down to half speed to manage a corner or roundabout? Then having to spend £75 twice a week to fill it up because she can't manage to get more than 16mpg?

Don't be so fixated on the German cars either, they are common as muck and as reliable as Nick Clegg. Broaden your horizons....

If you need a bit of off-road capability - Subaru Legacy Outback; if not, a 2WD estate/normal Legacy estate smile

I've driven about ten & three Zodiacs, personally I rate the Ford as the better steer & car especially if you can find a Vignale, try to find a lighter interior as it lightens the place.
