So I have the age old problem. I am 27 married with a 2 year old and a small dog so I need a decent sized car. I currently have a Tesla and the wife has a golf R estate. I had hoped the Tesla was going to be practical and scratch my petrolhead itch, but unfortunately it just hasn't. Plus I haven't really got on with it very well.

So I a have been looking into replacing with another hybrid or full EV and start saving for a an Evora 400 which I think looks amazing and are bit different from a 911. Have been looking into the Porsche mission E and various Porsche Hybrids. So I had sort of decided that I would go down the boring efficient company car route until the other day when my Dad/boss said to me well you run the company now your a big boy if you want to figure out a package for yourself and make a bit of a sacrifice why don't you buy something outside of the company. I immediately started thinking about Alfa Guilia Quadrifoglio as I have loved them since the moment the concept came out.

The issue I worry about is if it would be practical enough and if I would get bored after a little while? I really can't decide to have something fun everyday but not a purpose built sports car so I guess to some degree slightly compromised or have a special car for the weekends.

So what do we think? What have people tried and been happy with? Any other options I am totally open to.

For a minute I had to check I hadn't posted this whilst drunk. We're a Tesla/Golf R Estate household too!

Clearly I can't advise anything!

n+1 cars is always the correct answer, you just have to frame the question correctly! wink

I am mid 30's with 2 young children, I currently have a Tiguan and a Gulia QF. Personally I'd reccomend one as they are so much fun to drive. Practicality wise, the tiguan is used mostly but I've done quite a few trips with the family in the QF, the only thing I noticed really is the boot gets warm. So picnics etc have to be well packed.

Tesla and petrol sound strange together laugh

3 cars here, wife has the family, I have a small daily and a fun car. Works for me, I don't think I could go back to a single car for commuting and fun. I wouldn't want to use the S1 Elise as a daily (tried in the past, not for me) and I wouldn't want to use a heavy daily car for early morning blasts to North Wales.

Agreed. I live on my own and currently have 4....... And keep thinking I should add a motorcycle to them, even though I know I'd never use it.
