I am going back and forth and just getting annoyed now, can’t make up my mind, so have done a reset.

Want a second car that I can have some fun in, preferably something small to medium size. Ideally a sporty 2-seater, or convertible. Am open to something smallish with rear seats

Ideally no more than about 5 or so years old, quick, good looking, reliable, good street cred and also potential to be an appreciating future classic.

Something maybe in a Ltd or Special Edition

Not interested in anything with a massive engine (gas guzzler). Not interested in Lotus, Caterham, or similar etc. No trucks.

Thanks in advance.

Hiya, thanks. Yes have the MX5 and an Abarth 595/695 on my list.

I was given a good link to all the MX5 models and their specs, but still want other cars I might not have considered.

A Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT86 might fit the bill; sporty with two small rear seats.....

You might sneak a Nismo 370Z in there, very good indeed and rare. Prices firm as a result.

Was looking at one too, a couple around the 21k mark, thanks for the tip and for others making suggestions too.

Thanks all, have made my decision now. Am going for a car I had once before and always regretted selling.

Mk1 TT 240 QS (Black/Red), 06 plate, 45k miles, 1 owner, immaculate, FSH.

Generally the MK1 TT's look a bit girly, but 3.2l and the 240 QS are a bit more sporty looking. Drives like a go-kart. Luckily the one I am buying comes with the optional leather seats, rather than the standard bucket seats, which are a total back killer.

I know you said has to be 5 years old but i would be considering a Z4m Coupe in that price range. The engines are solid as they get, they look great, can make some modifications if you get the itch and they have hit the bottom of their depreciation value now and are just going up for a good example of one so you could run it as a second car, look after it and not lose and money.

Again another option could be a Cayman or Cayman S?

Sounds nice but hope you didn't spend your whole budget on it :-)

Drives like a go-kart? You can't have driven many/any karts. A friend has a TTQS and even after spending several thousands of pounds on bilstein suspension, anti-roll bars, brembos etc (the whole catalogue of mods) it still has wooden steering and drives much like an old Golf.

Quick and capable car but the opposite of a kart.

The pole position seats are indeed horrendous on long journeys and are pretty much the only go-kart thing about the whole car.

Nope, still have 5k left :-)

I need to buy some new tyres for my Golf R estate. The PS Cup 2's I stuck on them barely lasted about 5 months.

It was a figure of speech, I was referring to it over a general car, so not to be taken literally !!!!!!

Depends what you are comparing it to. If comparing to a Mercedes S-class then maybe but even a Renault Megane is closer to a Kart than a TT let alone an mx5/elise etc.
