Discount For Used Car from Main Dealer Franchise

Never bought a used car from a dealer before so wondering about getting price down and if so what could be asked without feeling embarrassed. I understand it would be better to sell and buy privately but I really don't have the time or inclination.
Presently looking to change Wife's car, a 2011 MX5, (offered £5,200 part ex) as we now have a Grandchild so Missus keeps knicking my car. She's looked at two Citreon C3's, one old shape (2015) £7,995 and a new shaped car (2017) at £9,795. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
