Škoda Superb, 2011, 2.0 Diesel: thoughts?
Discussion
Afternoon all,
A Škoda Superb estate is available and on my radar. It's high-spec, 2011, 98,000m, 2.0 Diesel with the higher output (177ps I think), manual gearbox. There seems to be some history with.
For those in the know, is there anything in particular I should be looking out for when I view?
What kind of reputation does the DMF/gearbox have on these? I would imagine changing the clutch/DMF is a pricey job.
I seem to remember a colleague had this engine in the VW mini-SUV thing, and the oil pump shat itself, taking the engine with it
which is something I would quite like to avoid.
Many thanks in advance for any advice.

The 2.0TDI is a good engine, just make sure things like the Cambelt has been done. Manual Gearbox is also much more reliable than the Auto DSG.
However at 100,000 miles the DPF maybe on it’s way out, Skoda/VW recommend the DPF soot level is checked at 100k. Also depends on what kind of driving you’ll be doing, if you are nipping to the shops and back doing short journeys that’s not the car for you, DPF will get clogged. If you are doing long motorway cruises it will be ideal.
Worth keeping in mind ever since the Emissions Scandal all VAG cars have a 2 year parts warranty on Emissions related items, like Injectors, EGR Valves, Fuel Pumps etc. Just google “Skoda Trust Building”.

Thanks, it would be a long-distance Autobahn cruiser really. For the shorter-distance stuff we use our pushbikes!
I´ll be going to have a look at it in a couple of weeks, I can´t see it shifting as it´s RHD/German registered in Germany.
