Any owners on here? It seems to be a very rare car! I’m off to look at one on Saturday, it’s a 2012 facelift saloon with excellent spec. Someone really went to town when ordering it new!
As I’ve never been a big V8 fan, always preferring V6 and V10 soundtracks, the 3.5 V6 really appeals to me.
My last 7 cars have been a mix of BMW and Audi, so fancy something totally different.
The W204 seems to be well enough praised over all from what I’ve read recently, I just can’t find much about the 3.5 V6.
I did however find some posts where people had tried to find facelift W204 with that engine and gave up trying to find any!

I test drove once (A C350 petrol something edition AMG Line).

It was fast but pretty forgettable. Interior was nice though.

Had to laugh at that line. All are German euroboxes so very similar. Saying that the C350 is a good mix of power and style.

Petrol, rare...nice work on finding one.

I used to own a pre-facelift estate; overall, really enjoyed the car, only annoyance was fuel economy, which would see me around 12/14mpg in city traffic. I believe the facelift brought stop-start which should help a tad.

Rear space is probably less than you would anticipate too.

I may be talking nonsense but I think two engines made their way to the C350 petrol: CGI and the previous engine - M272 - I think the M272 i.e. the pre facelift had a few issues and wasnt made for that long (5/6 years?). Can't comment on the newer engine.

Overall, a sweet spot of the range that no one really bought because of the diesel push, if the car checks out I wouldn't hesitate. That chassis was lovely and a petrol v6 suits it very well, twin pipes at the back give it nice balance too.

It’s the M276, so 30bhp more over the prefacelift, and £310 less tax too!
I know factory figures are never achievable but AT had it listed as 44mpg combined, which does seem too good to be true.
If it made 35 I’d be happy, bt something tells me that would be hopefully too.
However, 90% of my driving is A roads or DC, I do very little town and even less city driving.

I had a pre-face lift C350 Petrol Estate. It is the only car both the wife and I wish we had not sold. It was like a rocket ship, so fast especially in sport mode. The engine and auto gearbox worked so well. Mine was fully loaded with almost every option available. It seemed to eat rear tyres (maybe 4k miles before changing), but no other issues in the 3 years I owned it. I would defiantly consider buying another one.

That would be a seriously rare car indeed. I looked around for one a while back and really struggled to find any.

I'd a C350 hatchback of 2007 vintage a few years ago. Lovely engine.

It’s got heated leather seats with memory, folding mirrors, adaptive cruise, active lane assist, active blind spot assist, Sat Nav, DAB, parking guidance, universal interface, xenons, high beam assist and various other extras.
I think I will go for it, my biggest concern is just getting used to the different power delivery after having cars with turbos for the last 15 years or so

Ah yes, the tax, add that to the cons! In that case the extra power and improved effciency of the M276 should be enjoyable. For reference, I got around 35mpg on a steady motorway journey, maybe the improved engine will allow you 40 at cruise but I think it'll be a solid 27mpg combined! Admittedly, the estate probably reduced it slightly.

Lovely noise though from on a decent sized and smooth N/A block!

Would be interested to hear how you get on, I echo the thoughts of the previous poster - regret getting rid of it. Though i do have to ask - why not an estate?

I would get an estate first choice, but I also love saloons. My last three cars were estates.
The problem is finding them!
There is currently a red estate for sale on AT, but it’s prefacelift and over priced. It was that one that first put me on to the 3.5 engine, I didn’t know they existed, as I was originally looking for a C350 diesel. There is also a dark grey saloon with a lot less spec than the white one I’ve found.
Plus I love white cars, so that’s the one for me.

Having had a look, I wouldn't touch that red one, too expensive and the exhaust might have dubious origins.

Lovely car history though OP, my only cautionary tale would be of my last five cars, only one wasn't an estate, it lasted 8 months. After years of being used to them, I couldn't go back to the limitations of practicality.

I had the red one in my sights for a couple of weeks but they wouldn’t budge on price.
I’m glad I held out now though.
Having a saloon isn’t an issue because the Mrs has got a Pug 308 for such duties, and we have a Caddy van too.
I’ve always had a thing for quick saloons, so it will be a nice addition to the list biggrin

Just got home, I’m very impressed so far, nothing not to like.
Distronic is amazing, I bottled out on the first roundabout, but now i know I will use that a lot.
Blind spot assist is very handy too.
I reset the trip comp at Barnet, and driving home via Peterborough it’s now showing 35.3 average after cruising at 75-80 where possible, with a few blasts in between biggrin
No doubt it will go down a bit with local driving, it thankfully it’s all open roads for me usually.
Will be interesting to see how it settles.
I’ll start a thread in members cars with some pics and more info when I can, will link it from here

Glad to hear you are enjoying it. Distronic is great for the motorway but unsettling for a while! Would be good to hear your thoughts and see an owners thread after a few miles of you getting to know it. I think it could always do with a debadge and a few mm lower to keep it nice and flat through the corners, always felt there was a bit too much height at the rear and the ride shouldn't lose much of its compliance, which IMO Merc got pretty much spot on.
