Best performance car for under £7500
Discussion
Very hard to give a sensible answer without knowing a bit more what you’re looking for. A hot hatch and a big V8 barge may give similar performance but will feel very different.
Your mileage limit seems a bit arbitrary? I’d put far more emphasis on the condition and maintenance of the car than the mileage. An average condition 60k miles car that’s just had regular servicing vs a nice clean 90k miles car with a suspension refresh would make the lower mileage car look pretty “meh” to me.

Thank you for the suggestions I’m not bothered about amount of seats obviously more than 2 would be nice but not too fussed. MPG is a bonus but not too bothered as we all say it’s the smiles per gallon. I’m looking at a corsa VXR if anyone has owned one in the past i would appreciate your input and the reason for low mileage is because the maitenence cost should be less right guys?
Depends, are you talking performance as it fast off the line and you can brag to your mates down the pub, or performance as in an engaging, enjoyable drive that gets the senses racing and keeps you on your feet?
Personally I would avoid the Corsa.
DC5 is a good shout, my mate just sold his with 90k on the clock for £7550, so I'm sure you'd pick one up within your budget.

totally agree with the above. Its not much of a specific brief. What kind of performance are you after? Is it straight line fast you want ? Is it handling that is more important? What about running costs and insurance?

Totally agree - very different cars and styles and purposes but can be equally as fast. What does "performance car" mean to you?
You can certainly bag performance in a number of forms for £7500
A c5 rs6 is in reach with some legs on it - but account for servicing/maintenance and issues you could be looking at a nightmare buy/build but a great car none the less.
But for your money they are about...again different mileage to what you are after. But this is an example to point out they can be had at that price point and what that kind of example looks like - not recommending you buy one.

If audi were your thing, then an s3 can be had for your money -

You could stretch your mileage boundaries and get an e46 m3 which is a great performance car

but that may be too old but if rwd is your thing and you are ok with a "hot" hatch. A 130i is a cracking quick car.

But perhaps a hot hatch has to be turbo'd? Yet not as expensive ot maintain as a BMW

to say you can't get a c32 , that isn't true, try a fast wagon c55 but again it removes the low mileage element.

But if the mileage really is an issue, the c32 is definitely in budget with cash to spare

or how about something jdm with low miles and lots of smiles
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...
or maybe you want something a bit "special" compared to everyday hot hatches and saloons and fancy a 2 seater sports car
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...
but Porsche servicing scares you so you buy this instead -

Again. There are so many different variables with each of these that the original brief is not great at narrowing it down. These were just 5 mins quick search on ebay and autotrader.
Anything you really want or is it really just 65k and quick? Do you want handling over peformance? Does servicing and insurance play a part? Do you want fwd or rwd or awd? Turbo or N/A hot hatch or fast saloon or coupe or 2 seater? etc.

totally agree with the above. A well cared for, higher mile example with numerous new parts and great history and well looked after beats a 65k car thats never been serviced or been destroyed/ruined by lack of care and time and maintenance.
