Proper feeling V8 for under £4000

So after doing a "experience" day and driving a 60s Mustang GT350, the urge for a proper feeling V8 has bit! I have had Range Rovers, Jags etc with a V8 but none felt as mean or V8ish as the Mustang. So, any cars under £4k that can give anything near the feel of a old Mustang?

Never having driven the Mustang old or new I can only make a stab at your question. For the budget with a Mustang engine, agricultural gear change i would suggest you may find an MG ZT V8 at auction. Having owned on for over 10 years and still unable to select a better car for me might give you an idea how they can get under the skin.

My car has been supercharged for 8 of the 10 years but other than the ramp in power the driving enjoyment is from the sound and the feedback when driving, a bit raw but maybe this is what you felt with the Mustang

You're experience probably has more to do with the cam, carbs, intake and exhaust manifolds + gearing. Most European cars with V8 motors are subdued and so will the very same 302/351 engine be in that Mustang had it been installed in a Crown Vic. Try a TVR with the same Rover V8 as your Range Rover and let us know if you notice a difference.

One of these you need to play with the exhaust but they're a lovely low down grunt like the yank V8 they're pretty much bullet proof the 16 Spark plug change also check that the Gearbox fluid & filters have been changed.
