My fil is looking at a 2011 mx5. We both went to see and drive it today and its average but OK.

I just looked up the mot history and something has me questioning the mot advisories.

There were listed last year @23k as both rear tyres worn on inner shoulder and both rear discs worn.

Last months mot says only advisory is rear brake disc worn. It doesn't mention which one.

Today when we looked at the car, I already commented that the tyres looked worn and cracked, so they defo havnt been replaced. I didn't notice any particular disc issues but they weren't new.

Now the garage does its own mot's so (I'm not suggesting this is the case in any way) question is how do 4 specific advisories magically reduce to a single vague one 12 months and 9k miles later, when the work clearly hasn't been done?

Reg is nj61 wlx.

The other interesting thing is the website advert states "
This vehicle has previously been registered to a business or a vehicle rental company, or been used by a business, so it may have been driven by more than one driver".

Is that a standard disclaimer thing? Sales fella says it came from lovely old teacher he knows!

Tester's discretion....

What might be "bald" to a Kwikfit tester might be a "well worn but good for another 4000miles" for someone who's not trying to sell a pair of tyres to a clueless owner...
