There’s another thread running about South African mk2 for escorts being imported.

There’s a company in Aylesbury that import and sell them - can’t remember what they’re called, google will find it.

They look like they’d be fun - not massive money but cheaper than a decent Capri would be.

Most old cars rust which can be a pain. On the other hand they are generally easier to mechanically work on than new stuff.

Insurance may be your limiting factor so worth checking that first.

Nowt wrong with a Capri if that’s what you like and can find a solid one in budget.

I always fancied a Hillman imp when I was a kid.

If you can find a clean, rust free (or rust sorted, because they all rust eventually), a Mk 1 MX5 would be an awesome first car IMO.
