Put it on a steep hill
let the hand brake off and stand in front of it
That will give you something to worry about

I'd say it'll be fun driving it hard with the traction control off.

I love the coupe versions of the last shape.

They didn't make them for that long so they're one of the cars that wont lose boatloads of cash.

Thanks, I don’t want to waste money thinking a RWD with a little bit of power will hit the spot.

As an owner of the coupe (all came in 3.0 flavour), no, definitely not.

Kept mine 6 months or less, was expecting so much more. It was a 2004

Crikey, what are all you guys driving now?

I always though the 3.0 Z4's were a decent bit of kit.

I know they're not rocket ships in a straight line, but RWD with the traction control off?

I'm referring to the last shape, 2006 up to 2008

Not in a million years, I went from a TVR Cerbera into a Z4M and I found the Z4 boring in comparison.

Had an Integra DC5 before it, then a FD2 Civic, both more so much more engaging and fun.

Ok OP, so I've just looked at your past garage.

I now see you had a Monaro VXR

So yes, comparing that to the Z4, it isn't going to do it for you.

What sort of budget are you working with?

There is one way they can scare you.

I don't see it discussed anywhere else but it does get mentioned on z4forum. Some of them seem to suffer an unresolved issue with the steering. Some suggest its due to heat. Basically it just stops responding. Happened immune at speed on the motorway. Possibly one of the scariest things I've ever experienced.

I wouldn't bother. I only kept mine 5 months. And ignoring the looks the roadster is a better drive than the coupe. It seems sticking a roof on a car developed as a roadster makes for the most uncompromising crashy ride ever.

I found it could be a snappy little bd with the runflats and the electric steering having no feel.
