I'm after suggestions for a car that I'll be able to drive after surgery. Not to go into too many details but I'm looking at a few months wearing an external fixator (leg/ankle frame) on my left foot/ankle.

Obviously it's got to be an automatic, but I'm looking for a car that has a lot of room to put the left foot in whilst driving. I really don't want to get a hand control car as it's only going to be for a few months.

I'll have around 5K to spend and ideally it'll be a comfortable, smooth wafter.

I'm already thinking S Class Mercedes or 7 series BMW, but is there anything I could add to that list?

Honda CRV, upright and comfortable if the entry height is ok for you, more importantly no transmission tunnel.

Thanks chaps that's definitely one to consider - high driving position is fine as I'll still have 1 working leg!

Yes CR-V has a column shift to free some space for your left leg and seem to hold their value well especially if you decide to sell it on it you're fixed by the winter months.

I'm sure you have but another thing to consider is a flat floor/low cill and ease of access... Yeti or Berlingo maybe?

Good luck👍

The only thing with the mercs is if your left leg is out of action most of them have a foot operated handbrake .... left foot operated handbrake.
