Buying used car - fine rust on paint under in engine bay
Discussion
I was looking at a used car today, and noticed that, right up under the bonnet near the hinge, there was a slight imperfection in the paint on the passenger side, like a very light surface rust.

On the driver's side of the car, there was less, just a little which is pretty much out of sight.

Car is 6 years old. Everything else about the car is A1: main dealer, 100% service history, not Cat C/D etc. Anyway, does it seem normal? Am I worrying about nothing?

Yep, it's a Honda Civic! Mark 9, 2012, 1.8. Cleaning up that little bit of rust shouldn't be too much of a problem, I was just wondering whether it's a sign of anything significant.

Had a look in my bay (Only a year old), and there is no such rusting - I don't think you'd have much trouble with this; It's hidden away in the bay, so a wire brush, primer can and some waxoyl should do the job:- Is the car significantly rusted anywhere else? Most of the underside is clad, so your biggest hints will be the exhaust and suspension components.
