Having recently bought a e92 M3 (pic below) I’m absolutely loving it but I’ve racked up 4000miles in 2 months. Fuels a consideration but not something that would stop me from using it. My main concern is that it’s a 25,000 mile example and all I’m doing is racking up the miles.

£1,000.00. Don’t care what it is. Petrol preferably. Lupo? Polo? Cheaper the better.

Lots as I source New & Used cars for people I trawl through all the sites, but it pays off when I put my clients in the right car.

What you need is something Japanese from the 90's, Primera, Almera, Accord etc.

I would suggest Primera GT model, nice to drive, never breaks down, attracts zero attention.
(I've got a GT you can have with a new MOT for less than £1k).

How bad are these Skoda Felicia / VW Caddy Pickup things? Look terrible, I’m sure they drive terribly yet it’ll be handy to put things in the back?!

That’s actually the one I had in mind but couldn’t remember the name / make. Oh dear, eBay could be a bad idea tonight.

Is there going to be enough difference in resale value to make up for buying, insuring, taxing and repairing a s***box car. Some colleagues at work run sub £1k car and they seem to either need to scrap them after 12 months or spend another £500+ to get them through an MOT.
Why not just enjoy using the car you actually want to drive. If it was a high end car and the mileage made £30-40k difference then it makes sense but if the difference is only £2-3k then will the POS actually work out more expensive.

I’d find something low mileage, top history and as few owners as possible. At 1k it’s a lottery you just need to hedge your bets with regard to buying a nail off someone. Ideally a private sale from someone old. The car will be s

I realise it isn't quite in budget, but I sold a BMW 325ti Sport for less than £1,500 in February.

I used it for just over 3 years as a daily and at least it did provide some entertainment!

And it probably won't work anyway. Years ago, I had a fun car and decided I should have a dull daily - all it meant was I hated using the daily, and still used the fun car as much as I could.
A second car isn't a bad idea, but for me it only works if the second car is still reasonably fun (I ditched the Focus I had and bought a Supra instead - which worked very well).
