A relative has pointed me at a Nissan X trail 2002 that's going to go up for auction next week with a guide price of £500 - £800.
I have just done a hp check and it failed the previous MOT with the following :

MILEAGE 29643 mi
FAIL
Nearside Rear rear brake binding (3.7.B.1

The issue got resolved , it's now passed but it still has the following advisories :

MILEAGE 29648 mi
ADVISORY
Rear Sub-frame corroded but not seriously weakened (2.4.G.1)
Front Sub-frame corroded but not seriously weakened (2.4.G.1)
Offside Front Suspension arm corroded but not seriously weakened (2.4.G.1)
Nearside Rear Suspension arm corroded but not seriously weakened (2.4.G.1)
Nearside Rear brake disc worn, pitted or scored, but not seriously weakened (3.5.1i)
Offside Rear brake disc worn, pitted or scored, but not seriously weakened (3.5.1i)
Nearside Front Brake hose has slight corrosion to ferrules (3.6.B.4e)
Offside Front Brake hose has slight corrosion to ferrules (3.6.B.4e)
Nearside Rear Brake hose has slight corrosion to ferrules (3.6.B.4e)
Offside Rear Brake hose has slight corrosion to ferrules (3.6.B.4e)
Offside Rear Brake pipe slightly corroded TO FLEXIBLE HOSE (3.6.B.2c)
Nearside Front Shock absorber has slight corrosion to the casing (2.7.2a)
Offside Front Shock absorber has slight corrosion to the casing (2.7.2a)
Offside Rear Shock absorber has slight corrosion to the casing (2.7.2a)
Nearside Rear Shock absorber has slight corrosion to the casing (2.7.2a)

Obviously I won't know the extent of the damage until I view the vehicle, which will be this weekend, before it goes up for auction next week, but the car has a full history, one previous owner and less than 30k miles.

For £500 - £800, to me, looks like a great deal. I'm just wondering what people with more experience in cars thinks.

Any advice would be appreciated smile

I've done the check, I'm asking whether the advisories are something to worry much about and whether this would be a good buy

They're good cars, but like any 16 year old car will need some money spending on them sooner or later.

Can you do any of this work yourself or will you be relying on a garage? Sooner or later, those advisories will turn to fails if they are ignored and then it can start being expensive.

Thanks. This is what I'm worried about, I think for the price it may be worth buying, I'm going to view it this weekend, then I'll get a better idea
