Just wondered what others would buy with the above budget.
I currently run a Tvr Chimaera but it spends most of its life sat in the garage, I love the event it is but with family life changes it does not get used so much.
Another Tvr would be out of the question, maybe 10 years down the line but not now.
I’m a big Focus RS fan, but can’t help thinking there is so much better out there for the money.
Maybe the Mk 3 is the last of the hardcore models before electrification etc?
370z looks interesting, lack of rear seats isn’t really a problem.
It’s probably going to be a keeper so parts prices when it’s out of warranty are important as I service my own cars.
I always promised myself a 911 by the time I was 50 but I don’t think I could live with the issues/parts prices etc, and the fact it needs to be a daily rules it out.
Interested in opinions, I understand everyone’s tastes are different.

I was about to say you could get into an early 4.3 vantage, it's what I use as my daily, but if you're ruling out a 911, then i doubt a vantage would fly.

Vantage are pretty reliable, look OK to work on, although as I'm in warranty cover I throw at dealer for everything.

Still, if you promised yourself a 911,i can't see why you're not getting one, they are a perfect daily driver. Get a 996 for 20k and save change for repairs.

Thanks, I actually prefer the 997 due to the front lights but the budget would need to go up.

GT Mustangs are starting to fall into that price range, cheep parts, good value for money as a daily.

Jaguar XK or XKR: heavy on tax and fuel, but surprisingly light on maintenance/other costs.

Cayman would seem to fit the bill

There are certainly some interesting cars out there for the budget!
Not sure i could live with the day to day running expenses of an aston, maserati etc as much as id love one!

I know left field, but Mazda just launched a new 2.5 petrol Mazda six, it is a high premium car that through carwow etc you will get a brand new one in your budget as a 5k reduction on rrp is common place

Plus their petrols are bullet proof

The problem being that the depreciation in the first few years - and hence running costs - will be more than the running costs of a non depreciating Porsche or Aston.

This........got it all style, presence, relatively rare, seem quite decent in the reliability stakes too, useability; as they say you only live once and if you don't rack up lots of miles get your money back after a couple of years.

I would just buy get a porsche 911 and be done with it. Can't see anything else suggested fitting your requirements better, not really that expensive to run (what you spend on running costs offset by less depreciation than newer car for similar budget). They are designed to be a daily car and still new enough to be reliable at that budget.

Don't discount a Golf R. Lots of nay sayers on here, but they are a great all round piece of kit. Perfect for a daily too!
