Unfortunately, it seems like the time has come that the M135i has to go, in favour of a large family car. Hopefully something interesting to steer.

The M135i has done me proud for the 3 years I've had it, but its just a tad small. Still gutted its got to go though.

I should be able to get about 14-15k for it, and would be willing to add a couple of grand in to top it up.

I've looked at the Seat ATECA, but unfortunately being a new and seemingly very desirable model, used prices are strong and new ones are astronomical.

Ideally looking for something petrol, an automatic is a must!

Any suggestions are most appreciated. I would consider a small amount of finance if there's something interesting to warrant it.

Cheers chaps/chap-esses.

C63 has been right at the top of my cool estate car list ever since it came out. Would love one. Unfortunately, I cant stomach the fuel bills. Anything worse than the 135 (mid 20s in town and 30+ out of town) would drive me mad!

Would need to be an SUV / estate due to the dog.

Had my eye on the Octavia VRS estate for a while. Not actually poked about one in the flesh. Worries me that its the same platform as the golf. Is the boot on the estate significantly bigger than the golf estate variant? Not sure that will be big enough.

I have a Mk6 Golf and a Gen.3 Octavia VRS Hatch.. the Skoda's boot is more than twice the size, I can get my sons buggy in with a full load of shopping and still have space.. I can barely squeeze the buggy into the Golf and shopping ends up in the footwells.

That answers that then! Cheers.

What's the ride like on the Octavia? I'm looking for more GT sort of ride. Decent over bumps, but not wallowy.

Great choice, although I'm slightly biased as an F11 535i owner!

Acres of space and they drive really well, similar power to your M135i but in a bigger and heavier package of course. Much nicer interior and comfort though.

If you want space pace & decent handling then I'd be buying a Mondeo they're a better steer than the Octavia, just as reliable & come loaded with kit.

My other option would be the Insignia VXR these are amazing value a very good steer & has a very good amount of go they actually are better on fuel after a remap (plus you get the lump of torque back that Vauxhall took out to make it feel more like an N/A engine) as well as having more go.

The Insignia steers as well as an S4 so I'd at least test drive one of these before taking them off the list.

What about the Skoda Superb Estate sporty thing, can't remember the model but they do get reviewed well on here both by PH and the selection of owners on here too.

I'm on my second CLS Shooting Brake and it's a brilliant family car that doesn't feel like one!

  • edit: Sorry just noticed petrol. I'm in a CLS63 AMG-S which IS petrol but sadly not in budget but I previously had the CLS 350 Diesel and it's actually really good and not too diesel-y ;D

It is OK, I don't really drive it like that to find out.. it is my company car diesel, cruising around in auto.

Get a bit of bump steer on country lanes, setting the steering up to sport VRS mode makes it better.. my car came fully loaded with huge touchscreen nav and I think all possible options.. got paddleshift on the steering wheel that I've used just once for about 2 miles.

As a new C63 owner.... 900 miles in and averaging 22.5mpg combined. High of 26.9 (Mrs Don1 was in the car with me).

Totally worth it. That noise... Cracking car, loving it, even with the stupid 19" alloys on it.

Big-engined F11s are really thin on the ground. I think that's a car you could find yourself keeping quite a few years

I forgot to add include these:

C350iIt's very rare to find one of these for sale, especially in facelift form & so this is well worth a look.
