Lexus LS460.... anyone own?
Discussion
Guys,
Looking ahead to the future - Have had these on the radar a bit and cant seem to find anything bad said about these so wondering has anyone here owned one or has any feedback. The second hand prices make these some bargain, sure the running costs will be prohibitive but for the luxury of a car of that quality and a nice V8 (even if you cant hear it) i think its a small price to pay.

I've wanted one for far too long
Bullet proof, quick, well appointed and cheap as hell second hand. What's not to love?
Sorry I can't be of any help OP!
yeah, I think there is not much more to say to be honest! I could see myself having one next year - like you said bullet proof, cheap (for what you get) premium level comfort thrown in for good measure and considering its weight pretty fast. I bought a 2007 LS460 last year with 150K on the clock for less than £10,000. Has been brilliant. Now on 176K. Feels like a brand new car. Only costs are 2 routine services and 4 new tyres. It averages 26mpg which I think is great for a very big car and a 4.6 litre V8.
A testament to Lexus' legendary build qualityphilipbrown123 said:

thats awesome tbf, i would be amazed to get a 7 series or such at the age and milage to have such less drama than that but i am not surprised. V8s are only going one way and you need to snap them up fastAnother LS460 fan here, I hope to be able to finally get one at the end of next year when a share save thing I've got going with my employer matures. If there's one car that I'd be unconcerned about high mileage on it's a big Lexus, so I reckon I might see if I can get one that's got a full Lexus service history past the big service at 120k - these are going for well under £10k now. There was a thread in GG a few days ago about the prices some jokers are asking for ageing V8 Volvo S80s (upwards of £20k in some cases) - as I read that I thought you'd have to be mental to choose one of those over an LS460 of similar vintage for half the price.
The only worry about these is that I understand that they can have problems with the steering rack that can only be fixed by Lexus at great expense (like £5k). I seem to remember reading that it was only 06/07 models that suffered this though - does anyone know if this is true or not? Anyway, given they're so cheap for what they are I think I'd be willing to take the risk that if this was going to happen to a 120k+ mile car then it would have by now...
