Hey

So wife has decided she has had enough of driving our Mazda 6 sport (too big) and wants a small car

We have tried fiesta,Corsa,Hyundai...

The Peugeot was the only one she really loved, I said no to the 1.6 blue hdi, on paper it looks brilliant but too many horror stories about that engine.

We looked at the 1.2 Puretech...highly regarded engine...but Mpg was nowhere near as advertised

We then tried the 1.4 diesel and apart from it being awfully slow the 60mpg over the last 6000 miles seem perfect...

But for the life of me I can not find much info on this engine, so either no one owns one or it is a good unit...

She does do just enough to justify a diesel, but no motorway (welcome to Norfolk) however the road she travels on is a high trunk route so mostly 50 mph all the way...

I was hoping someone has some views on the reliability of this engine

will be same engine as the 1.6 just lower cc, ford pug citreon engines

i would have a 1.6 tdi remember how popular that engine will be and how many horror stories you are actually hearing, im sure they are more reliable that a Porsche engine and people still buy and run those

The 1.4 is a competent engine & will do the job, expect mid 50's in reality.

All the issues with the 1.6HDI were resolved from 2009 onwards, it's alright after that
