I currently have a 2005 Citroën C3 which I have been using for around a year now and I am thinking of selling it around next year when the Insurance and road tax run out. By then I will have 2 years of no claims if it all goes well and have held my licence for 2 years as well. I'm in need of a new 5 door hatchback that is a lot nicer to drive and has a better quality interior than the C3. I have looked at the Audi a3 Sportback, BMW 1 series and golfs but each has there flaws. The golf would be too expensive to insure and way out of my budget, the Audi I have read isn't that involving to drive and the BMW being rear wheel drive doesn't have much space at the back and during at winter, it would be a little bit risky on the roads in my area.

I'm in no particular rush but I would like to know what to save up for, I have a budget of £5k.

Ford fiesta and focus are good cars, drive pretty sweet and have lots of engine and trim choices.
Kia ceed and Alfa guiletta are staple ZX Ninja recommendations.

It'll be a case of looking at them all and getting your bum in as many seats as possible too see what you like.
