E46 M3 to Jaguar XKR

So I currently have a 2005 E46 M3 manual coupe in Estorial blue,

I have had this car for just over 4 years, but have had an itch for another car, and been getting excited about the big cat.

Doing some research on my cars value and it appears the trade in value is around £1,000 more than last year (had the itch to change then too)

So this makes me think is the internet right and these cars will gain value so is it worth holding on to?

Or do I jump into the Jag and expect these to remain fairly stable regarding the prices?

Also if anyone has any experience with the Jag compared to the M3, it’s the 4.2 V8 model I’m looking at, thanks.

i love both cars, driven but not owned.
i guess you already know that the E46 is the definitive sports saloon and that the Jag won't compete at that level? Great in it's own right and a lovely contrast but not on it's toes nimble like the BM. Jag suspension worth experiencing.

Had an 05 manual coupe.
Wish I'd kept it.
Love a jag but its no comparison.

This is what I’m finding, hear so many people say they wish they never got rid of the m3, seems a very hard car to replace
