Weird title I know, but read on.

I own a pretty much immaculate and much modified SL55. It sounds amazing, goes like the clappers and I adore the way it looks, but....... it's not a Jag and I love Jags.

I had an XJ8 and loved it so I find myself looking at 2007 - 2009 XJRs.

Some days when I drive the SL I think ... wow and then some days I think I can't use half of the performance and it's not that comfortable... and wish I was wafting around in a big Jag....it's a dilemma.

SL55 prices seem to have stabilised and I guess may start to nudge up. XJRs seem to be doing the same.

I love aspects of both cars, but can't have both so I have decided to plump for the one that may increase in value the most over time.... I accept the modifications to the SL may hamper that as it's not standard, so do you lot think a standard XJR might be a better 'investment' (relatively speaking) than an SL55 that has been tweaked.

The Jag will likely be cheaper to maintain too.... it couldn't be more expensive LOL!

Over to you.

It depends on the mods an exhaust mod change of wheels etc won't harm you at all as it's a mod a lot of people do, on the other hand if you go as mad as I did then you may find it harder to sell although I sold mine within 4 weeks twice & for very good money on both occasions.

Tough choice.

Why do you think an XJR would be cheaper to maintain? Because less electrons?

Would you look at an XKR? I've had two and really liked them....

Had an XJ8 2004 and it was very reliable. The Achilles heels of the SL55 are active suspension, roof leaks, boot leaks, SBC pumps.... the Jags don't have those issues and any issues they do have seem relatively (and I emphasise the word relatively) inexpensive to sort out.

Yes, have been looking at those, but there is soemthing abut having a silly engine in an XJ that I like. I will give an XKR a try though.
