Would it not depend on spec / colour / condition? Say a nice colour with lots of options would be better than a base model in a bad colour.

Do many people actually worry about what their car will be worth in 3 or 4 years when it comes to sell it on? Just buy it and enjoy it.

What has resale in 3-4 years got to do with it?

Have you driven either car yet? If so, which did you prefer?

That's probably the one you should buy wink

The arse has fallen out of the F8* cars to a certain extent, thanks mainly to big discounts and low/zero APR deals by BMW.. there have been a lot of cars shifted, which has impacted the value of used cars, so I'd personally be very wary about dropping £50k into one unless you're prepared to absorb the depreciation.

If you are able to increase your budget or are comfortable looking at finance options for the difference; then you may be able to sniff around and get a good deal on an M3/M4 CS, which should hold its value better than a standard/competition pack model.

How is it people don't consider it? Given it might have a strong bearing on what you can afford to replace said car with in 3-4 years time, surely its prudent to give it some thought?!

Fwiw - Unless I had kids, or a REAL need for usable rear seats/a boot, the M4 would not even be a consideration out of those two.

A 911 will retain its value better. No doubt.
