I am looking for a small SUV for my Missus. The style we want is not too big (so she doesn't scrape it too much in supermarket car parks). She thinks the Nissan Qashqai is too big but the Juke OK, ditto she is OK with the Vauxhall Mokka but nothing bigger. The problem is that she is from the Far East and is always cold in the UK, whereas I am always hot so, to avoid acrimonious situations it MUST have dual zone a/c. It must also be automatic transmission, petrol-engine and have a built in sat nav and reversing camera.

We are looking at low mileage, up to a year old (preferably although I might go a year older if it still is <10,000 miles) and max at £20,000.

So far I have come up with Peugeot 2008 GT-line, Vauxhall Mokka and Jeep, the last two also being of the higher specs.

Anyone got any other ideas??

Renault Captur
End of line Skoda Yeti
SEAT Arona
Suzuki Vitara
Toyota CHR
Fiat 500X
Honda HRV
Kia Soul
Mazda CX3

One of those should fit the bill.

Just avoid the Ford Ecosport. It is woeful.

All good shouts, particular the comment on the Ford, however how many of those have dual zone climate; I know for a fact that the Captur doesn't?

Citroen C3 Aircross? Quirky little thing. The 1.2 petrol is a nippy option.

love my Kadjar as a main do-it-all daily. Not fast but one of the comfiest cars I've ever travelled in and does 50MPG without trying even though it's the bigger engined, 4wd manual version

£17k got me one with every single option 18 months ago @ 1 year and 6k miles old so I'm sure there's even better deals now

It's not a good swap Paul. Don't do it.
Keep her, you can't snuggle up to even a micro-car in those long winter nights. wink

Thanks folks but it's the lack of dual zone a/c in most of those. The Ssanyong has it but it's a long way for a service as dealers are few and far between - my nearest is 45 miles away.

My mistake with the Captur, I've been in my auntie's Clio which looked as though it has dual zone but it actually doesn't. I'll re-jig the list with trim levels which have dual zone. Ditto Mazda CX3 so remove that.

Fiat 500X Pop Star/Cross
Skoda Yeti SE Drive/SEL
Seat Arona FR/FR Sport
Suzuki Vitara SZ5
Toyota CHR all trims
Kia Soul Sport
Honda HRV SE Navi/EX
Ssangyong Tivoli ELX.

Yes, didn't see that coming for a new car launched in 2018....

Look at the actual scoring, it performs well in a crash, however if you hit a pedestrian then they don't come off so well and some of the other electronic systems aren't that great.
