Is this car genuine?
Discussion
Hi guys. I would love your thoughts on a car I am looking at purchasing. It suits my requirements perfectly and is just what I was looking for. Trouble is, I live in the Highlands and the car is near Birmingham (I could be waiting months or years to find anything similar up here). I have no trouble traveling for the right car and do so regularly, I just dont want to travel hundreds of miles and be done over! I would usually pay a small deposit to reserve a car prior to traveling but I am yet to do this on this car.
The guy admits he is a trader which I am ok with if the car is as described. What's weirding me out is that there are a couple of other cars on Gumtree that have had pictures taken in the same location, all with similar adverts and the same phone number but a different seller name... He has given me all the info and pictures I have asked for and all research on the car checks out.

What are your thoughts/what would you do?

I imagine hes doing it to save on fees and possible how he reports earnings to hmrc too.
"The same applies to trade sellers, but you’ll need to pay a fee of £2 per ad. Trade sellers must also stick to our Rules for Retailers"

Based on my experience, I would never EVER buy a car from Birmingham, and I live less than an hour away from it.If you insist on wasting your time in a city full of dishonest traders selling s
t cars, then I'd just ask him straight up about the adverts.agent006 said:

Haha, thanks for your honest opinion. I will ask him about the adverts. I thought it may be to avoid Gumtree fees but why such different names... If you insist on wasting your time in a city full of dishonest traders selling s
t cars, then I'd just ask him straight up about the adverts.Gassing Station | Car Buying | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
