My current Mazda 6 has had it and I need a replacement ASAP.

15 Mile (30-45 Min) each way commute on fairly slow moving or queuing Motorway.
Pretty much anything will do.
Ideally would like AC to keep the Windows clear. Maybe Auto.
Petrol probably the most sensible.
Not too bothered about size. Something Focus sized most likely. Hatch or Estate.

Postcode M251AW if anyone fancies a search on Autotrader, etc. smile
Don't want to travel too far.

Based in North Manchester but in Devon until Saturday Night.

Focus. Are the 99BHP 1.6 a bit feeble?

2007 Suzuki Swift 1.6 VVT Sport at £1,990 ticks most boxes (no auto). 39.2mpg combined but still gives a good bit of performance for some fun.

The MOT history on this one looks pretty good compared to a lot of other older cars I've looked at. They are pretty bullet proof anyway. It's only 11 miles away from you.

What about a SAAB 9-3? They do decent turbocharged petrols and aren't too bad on the fuel. There's also a fair few convertibles about if that takes your fancy for those long hot summers stuck on the motorway. Best checking MOT history on anything you are looking at though for a good indication of how it's been treated.

Lexus IS also come to mind, although not the most fuel efficient but certainly reliable enough. This one looks nice: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Or, if you are going to be sitting in traffic then a more commanding view of what's ahead and more space to stretch out inside may be a good idea so perhaps an SUV such as the Toyota RAV4, Honda CRV or Suzuki Grand Vitara?

Thanks
NIce looking Swift.

SAAB also a good shout. Ideally want Hatch/Estate so limits the available Cars.
Was considering the IS250 when I got the Mazda but again, not keen on a Saloon.

MOT History is very useful. Was looking at a Car on Gumtree. No oil and knocking a couple of Years ago.

Thanks ZX. Was hoping you might chip in !!

The Mondeo Ghia looks very good.

Really not keen on the Vectra
I forgot these:

MG ZT

IS200 SE

Sport

Volvo S40 (a bit cramped so try one for size)

Saab 9-3

I'd still go for the Mondeo but if you can live with something smaller then the Lexus SE would be my second pick
