Evening PH,

After recently purchasing a car for myself, I’ve given my other half the Astra we both used up to recently to chop in for something she actually wants.

It has a current value of 4.5k (ish) with 2k outstanding on the HP, giving her a trade value of 2.5 ish. She trying to keep her monthlies to 150 or lower and is looking for a car that can haul her and our 1 year old around, she will be covering maybe 8k a year as my car will be the big trip / weekender.

Working roughly we’ve come to around £6-7k to spend with HP over 4 years,

Ideally she’s looking for something smallish, 5 door, with a decent spec and at present has been looking at the likes of the fiesta / Clio with a 1-1.2L engine.

Anything else anyone would suggest ? We’re out looking / test driving tomorrow so would appreciate any input greatly.

Oh yeah, if it comes in white, apparently that would be a bonus .... rolleyes

Cheers in advance!

I'd agree about a Fiesta, as some will know from other posts I've been running one for the last 12 years. Other suggestions are a Corsa (cheaper than a Fiesta at the same age so could get newer for the same money) or a Fiat Panda.

We have had a Nissan Note for six years - and currently have two kids (5 and 9). It is a little higher than the other cars you mention - so potentially easier laoding kids in the back.. Nice sliding seat in the rear to swap between boot space (prams, scooters or bikes) or legroom (transporting grandparents round.

Ours is high spec with part leather, sat nav, auto everything, electric folding mirrors, parking sensors. £30 tax, 64mpg.

Also, never let us down
