Any cheap, seating on the rear wheels type of coupes to be had out there? LHD 90's and newer please. RWD and manual. I guess because of the position of the green house it will be limited to 2 seaters. 2 doors of course.

By seating on the rear wheels type of coupe I mean long bonnet, short rear with seats very near to rear axle.

Thanks.

You'd need double that to get a decent one now.

if the budget isn't >£20k then perhaps a BMW Z4 Coupe is half the price or a Nissan 350Z is half the price again.

The OP states LHD. Does this mean you're looking for LHD cars?

In which case, lower powered version of the M / Z3 Coupe exist on the continent, which should be considerably cheaper than the M Coupe which is the only version we get in the UK.

Might be better if you gave a budget rather than just saying cheap

I get where you are coming from, you are looking for a modern day Capri.

RX8 is an option. Cheap as chips to buy and gives you the seating position you want, although it is 4 door.

The Chrysler already mentioned is another good choice.

More like a poor man TVR Sagaris or T350c actually. smile

The RX8 having a rear seat is not really seating on the rear axle, is it? I never looked inisde one to see how the rear seats are. But what scares me is the engine and unreliability stories. Good looking car though. Hmmm.

MX-5 or Z3 are probably the only viable answers. The latter maybe out of budget.

There simply haven't been that many RWD coupes of this nature built in the past 20 years or so. Thus somewhat limited choice, even more so at this price point.

There's a few RHD UK examples on autotrader for circa £2k.
Can't say much for the LHD/EU market however

I remember seeing this on Spotted: a few weeks ago. Manual transmission and all.
Bit far off the budget mark though laughlaugh

Also engine is over the rear axle, not the drivers seat.
