7 seaters available

Hi all,

I'm looking for a 7 seater - I've obviously done the usual Google searches but what appears is 'Best 7 seaters' not a comprehensive list of all available.

Does anyone have a link I can follow which lists all?

Depends what your budget is?

I have a 7 seater as I have 4 kids as one of my cars.

I have had zafiras and smax but now have a mazda 5 which is a good car but not the biggest.

With 7 seats, the all important question follows - MPV or SUV?

MPV - Vauxhall Zafira, VW Touran, VW Sharan/Seat Alhambra.

SUV - Volvo XC90, Audi Q7, BMW X5, Merc GL, LR Discovery 3/4/5/6.

Just do an Auto Trader or EBay or Gumtree search, put in the criteria you want and you'll get a list of pretty much what's available i n the UK. You don't need to buy any, but you've got your list.

Thanks for the reply - we are looking to lease, not sure I can push to X5, Q7 level but maybe looking at the XC90 and Skoda Kodiac.

An XC90 is pretty much X5 and Q7 money.

Seat are bringing out their version of the Skoda Kodiac soon, the Tarraco.

There's actually about £200 a month difference with the X5/Q7 vs. the XC90.

e class estate might be an option, with the 7 seat option ticked. Ours is increasingly useful.

Leased a SUV shaped Peugeot 5008 for the wife last year, brilliant car, in GT Line spec it looks ok too, 5 proper seats so no bench in the back and 2 pull up type in the boot, tech is great on it too.

Got a 5 & 4yr old in a high back boosters and 8 month old in proper car seat and all fit across the back with ease.

I pay £224 a month for it on a 3 & 23 8k miles

I have a VW Touran. 4 kids.

Middle row has 3 isofix. Seats in boot dont, but fit a 7 year old in comfort with his own cup holder, storage thingy and his own 12v adaptor.

I class it as a mini MPV as it isnt actually that big.

However i am looking at getting an XC90 in the next 12 months.

We just went through this process. We looked at all the 7-seater SUVs around £30k new: Kodiaq, Tiguan Allspace, Disco Sport, 5008.

In the end we bought a new Kia Sorento. Not the most exciting, but the biggest for the money, well equipped, and has a 7 year warranty.

I need a 7 seater and have had an E-Class Estate, Range Rover Sport and, now, Discovery 5 in sequence, as my offspring have progressively got longer. All have been great all-rounders and can be recommended but would be used or out of budget.

I did have a gap in the summer though and rented a 5008, a Touran and then a Grand Picasso for various trips and holidays. I was impressed with the Pug' and the Citroen - plenty of space, decent tech and perfectly decent cruisers on a run. The 5008 felt better quality wise but the Grand Picasso was more practical in terms of interior layout - both had a (degree) of stylistic interest and, barring slightly crappy gearboxes (a modern plague) were very decent family motors indeed. Obviously nothing that you'd want to drive solo on the route napoleon but genuinely ok for the daily grind. Suspect you can get a decent deal on either...

VW was boring inside and out and a tedious chore to drive!

Kodiaq is probably the way to go on lease, not sure if an X Trail might be cheaper but the Skoda is the much better car.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the S Max it fits the criteria & is a great option.

On KIAs they seem to making some good cars backed up with 7 year 100k warranty and I have heard unlike VW/AUDI they don't try and shaft you on the occasions you come into issues.

We are trying sportages instead of the usual BMW 3 AND AUDI A4s.

I have a GT LINE1.6 crdi almost fully loaded 68 plate which is a boat load of car for the money and bigger than the others.

It got a pretty good quality interior up to VW not quite up to Audi, but then have a good after sales experience with audi.

Toys decent leather seats, reversing cam, apple car play/ andriod auto and sat nav thats much better than bmw's and touch screen or use buttons. 19nch conti suv wrapped diamond cut wheel, handles well for suv. Steering is not bad little neutral on feel. Doesn't roll around much at all.

4 heated seats family friendly interior does ikea trips well.

Fuel consumption is 40-45mpg (I have fuel card and could be a little more conservative)

Only slight moan is the 1.6 crdi is not the most refined lump on the market, my only negative but its pulls well.

I would have the higher output diesel or petrol, but the trim level is very good.

Seems to be a german beating option if you can get past the badge snobbery. They have a german designer I believe and it shows. Had a few badges snobs and even a guy with a fully loaded audi a5 conceded there was much to like about in the interior.

I do what would you like to know, I can recommend them as a very good alternative to the regular options, the Alphard & Nissan Elgrand are a great options as long as you don't mind spending a bit on fuel.

We do 7 seaters as the family car, but also want 4WD for security. Did (old) XC90 and now X-trail; both very good. We’ll probably do new XC90 again next. Plus, Volvo are saying that from 2020 no one should die in an XC90! What’s not to like!?
