Hi everyone

I’m sorry to add to the long list of these threads but I can’t find a recent one that covers what I’m looking for.

Just decided against an Alfa GTV that I was looking at due to slightly too much unknown work needed to bring it up to scratch, and as it was sight unseen and far away, I decided to not take the risk.

I’m looking for something for a bit of weekend fun, something I can work on, it can be something impractical but can also be something stupidly practical but fast.

What I don’t want: hot hatches, civics, accords, Imprezas etc.

What I’d like: nicest sounding engine possible in my budget, v6, maybe v8 if possible. Fun, relatively easy to work on (but not a deal breaker).

What do you think? I’m open to any and all suggestions. Could I even get a 7 replica for that money?

Thanks!

I'm not totally ruling out an mx-5 but it's a little ordinary for me

Swallow your pride and get a forced induction Mk1. 220-250 bhp in something the size of shoebox and rear wheel drive. I did, and I'm loving it! I have lost the ability to willy-wave with a 5 litre v8 and 500 bhp, but I have a lot more fun driving.

The TVR is exactly the sort of thing I'm looking for, I saw this before and it's tempting...
