Is this Honda CRV worth a punt? (High Miles)
Discussion
Looking for a winter run about. This Honda CRV has came up near me for sale.
It's a 2008 and just been MOT'd with no advisories (passed last year with no advisories as well). Only problem is the mileage, which is at 187,000 now.
Seems a decent price for a new shape at £2.5k. Or would I be better steering clear? Anyone got experience of that 2.2d engine?

I like to look at 'high mileage' cars as a good thing, it usually means its on the motorway and has been reliable enough to just jump in and use.
Our CRV is sat on 150k miles and feels fine. although it did have the clutch/dmf replaced before we bought it, i'd say it'd need to have that done or i would find another example (its a weak point on the 2.2cdti)
We managed to get ours for £1800 as it needed a service and was suffering from some common issues.
Look out for: squeaky clutch pedal (there is no cure for this), pulling on the steering wheel (means diff fluid needs changing), if it states full service check the diesel filter has been changed (its in a typical un-honda-like pig of a place).
Go and have a look, if its sweet then i see no reason to disregard it on miles. we have run an ex-police Terrano to 390k miles and an Isuzu gave up on me last year at 282k, i think a Honda could have a go at those sort of miles!!
