Evening,

Just changed jobs and have now got a company van. So the Passat diesel I bought no longer serves its purpose. Personal mileage will drop to less than 6k a year. Always had a hankering for a Monaro. But my budget would only allow me to go for a 5.7 litre. What else is there that could tempt me. Budget is 10k, needs to have rear seats as I do have little ones. Age and mileage isn’t a concern. Cheers, steve

In my totally bias opinion I'd go for the CLK55 AMG the prices are firm & they go really well are pretty much bulletproof drivetrain wise the one thing to check for is that the radiator, if it has Valeo radiator it'll need changing so take this into account when looking at these although to be honest most will have been changed by now.

This example is very cheap & leaves you some change for some nice upgrades:

The one below I know very well as it used to be mine & I know the current owner & the car has been well looked after:

Low Mileage example

BMW 650i is another good option but be aware that the valve stem seals can be an issue:

Nothing wrong with the 5.7 LS1.

£10k should get you a Camaro or Firebird maybe. Same LS1 engine. Slightly lighter than the Monaro and a more swoopy body shape.

sn95 or a Fox Mustang likely to be in budget too if you can find one.

That Merc is nice.

If you are wanting to stand out from the crowd a little, then you won't go wrong with a Monaro.

Masses of room inside although getting access to the rear can be a bit slow. The front seats take and age to move forward.
