Yaris Hybrid on 0% PCP Worth a punt?
Discussion
Other half has an 06 Cooper S JCW, and it getting a bit spendy. She's a district nurse, so does lots of town driving and short trips.
Looking to replace it with something new so she has a warranty etc.
Can't afford to purchase the car outright so thats just not an option, but the 0% PCP looks like a reasonable bet.
Any reason why we shouldn't????
Any comments gratefully received!

I imagine it will all depend on what the finance options are.
If it's £10k down and £1 a month over 12 months, with an optional final payment of £3k (or whatever), it's a No from me.
If it's £1 down and £1 a month over 12 months, with an optional final payment of £15k (or whatever), sign me up.

No idea on the deal but my wife has a Yaris Hybrid and it's a decent little car.
Easy 55+mpg around town, well put together and a nice ride around Wiltshire's poorly surfaced roads. Poor headlights though (silly HIR2 bulbs as well so not easily upgraded) and the sat-nav screen is poorly positioned so suffers from nasty reflections...
All in all she loves it...

I know you said she wanted new but here's an interesting hybrid that you'll be able to extend the Manufacturer's Warranty on:

Will 8k miles per year be enough?
As above I would go 2nd hand on a personal loan (you have £2300 for the deposit anyway).

What would be the plan at the end of the 42 months? If it's to pay whatever the GFV is, and keep the car long term, this may be worth doing, but if the desire is to always a newish car (i.e. get another PCP at the end of the term) is leasing worth looking at?
For instance, for the 42 months of driving this Yaris, you'll pay out £10000.
This high spec Astra would cost £8250 for 48 months use on a lease, and includes road tax too.

£180 a month will get you a decent high spec 12-18 month old car of around £10,000-12,000 if you take out a loan. At the end of three years it's yours to keep and will be worth around £4000-6000.
You'll not be hit mileage charges or damage charges.
Cars are generally more reliable, you'll have 18 months to sort out any warranty issues. Steer clear of PCP because at any moment the crap will hit the fan with them. Most cars will go in for 10 years and over 100,000 miles without issue if looked after.

Nopeeven if we take your lowest figure that's £277 a month without any interest
