Small van for work...(possibly)
Discussion
Hi all,
I have a meeting tomorrow to discuss the likelihood of a small van coming my way for work purposes.
It will only be used occasionally to transport a small amount of stuff shortish journeys <50 miles each way so Transit Courier or possibly Connect size is fine. The rest of the time it'll be just me going to other sites for meetings, etc but as far as I'm aware (my finance manager said so) it does have to be a van, why not an estate car I don't know but either is fine by me.
Having had a quick look online, the vans to lease are circa £1200ish initial and £190 per month +VAT for 4 years.
Is there a business reason for a van over an estate?
Not had a company vehicle before so would like to go into the meeting with a bit of knowledge.

The rules around providing commercial vehicles to employees without the risk of incurring Benefit In Kind charges are more relaxed than providing cars, and finance people are generally a risk averse bunch. - and many don’t understand the rules.
If you’re getting a van, get one with a solid bulkhead between the load area and the cab if you can. They are much less noisy.
