Depreciation proof cars around £5000
Discussion
Loads of choice. I'd say anything that appeals to enthusiasts and is well maintained/ cared for won't lose much at that price range.
A few examples; nice Lexus LSes seem to be holding price and gently going up as the choice thins out, old German stuff is pretty depreciation proof, old JDM stuff, yank stuff always holds an appeal for some and is often worth as much in parts as a whole.
I had a mk3 MR2 which lost nothing in value after 18 months and 23k miles use for example.

Nothing will be depreciation proof (especially after today's events) what you can get is something that'll depreciate slower than most cars out there:

Can you push the budget out a bit? If you're handy with a spanner then maybe this Quattroporte for £8k...
