Looking to buy one of the 3

Budget is 2.5k

Had a look at all 3 and honestly can't decide, leaning towards the Forester but of anyone has an opinion on the others and a reason to consider them I'm open to suggestions.

Pinin ,sadly, highly corrosive, built from inferior steel. (Experience of a PH colleague) Subaru will be best but they are thirsty , of course. Jimny - silly name!- very able off road, bit dire on it,of the 3 Scooby is best car.

Forester. I am biased - our 2001 is God like in our household. A very capable car and has acquitted itself really well in bad weather. The observation on thirst is well made. However the engine is as tight as the day it was made and it doesn’t squeak or rattle anywhere which is testament to the build quality.

Jimny for proper off-roading, Forester for everything else.

Depends what you want to do with it, whether it's an only car or an addition to others etc etc.

Pinin was, i believe, made in italy and subsequently had various issues especially corrosion OP mentioned.

Yup, in the absence of any other info as to its purpose I'd go with this. Jimnys (rightly) get a lot of love on PH for their no-nonsense off-road ability, but their limitations as a road vehicle will quickly become apparent IMO. Assuming you want a car for the winter with a bit of off-road ability then Id also chuck a Subaru Outback into the mix, because I've got on and think it's ace, but presume it might be a bit bigger than you're after.
