Used Golf R buying help!

I’m after a Golf R 5 door in either black or white. So my budget is around the 20k mark, but could squeeze to 21k. My options are:
1. £20.4k Black 14 reg with nav, leather 30k miles,
2. £21.7k Black 15 reg with nav, leather 32k miles,
3. £18.9k white 15 reg, 26k
4. £21k, Black 16 reg, 15k, nav on 19s
5. £17.7k Black 16 reg, 43k miles
6. £19.9k Black 14 reg with nav, leather 40k miles
All with good service history. Not sure whether to go for a higher spec 14 plate or newer low spec basically, and which would hold its value better?

Because it's the biggest car forum in the UK and they could do with a bit of help?OP as cars age the value of the options on them tends to become less and less important, age and mileage become the overriding factors. Depends how long you want to keep it for really. A pre-facelift with nav, the adaptive dampers and upgraded wheels is going to be an easier sale and a more desirable car to some people for a while yet because of the number of standard spec cars out there. It's hardly badly equipped without any options on it though.
What's really going to drop the value of the cars you're looking at IMO is the increasing availability of the 7.5 facelift cars with the improvements they bring, so personally I'd just go for a newer lower mileage car unless you really want a specific option fitted to your car. My biggest consideration would be finding the best example that you can, tons of them out there so you can afford to be picky.

This is good advice, I’ve just got rid of my 2017 R after receiving a visit from 3 masked men at 2am and I’ve already got the cctv, they didn’t get in but it’s just not worth it.We have lots of nice cars in the street but this was all they came for, never again, it’s not even that good a car!
I test drove to 330d and I think I’m going to go for something like that. For someone who likes to drive in low revs with quick acceleration in real world driving I wouldn’t really benefit from the Rs performance and having a lack of spec for the price tipped it.
My daily commute is 10 miles there and back, and I don’t tip 8k miles a year, so I’m weighing up the 330i to the 330d. I know there’s a lot out there comparing the 30i to the 30d but i can’t seem to find anything comparing newer models so any input is greatly appreciated!
