Hello

I'm new to leasing and am potentially looking to get a new car as a Personal Lease (aka. PCH?).

I've had an quote with a BMW dealer (which I didn't go through with in the end as the numbers weren't great due to options they added). However one thing that struck me was the requirement of having a company car allowance or being a director.

Now I'm looking at WhatCar leasing comparison website and have found similar worded statement (by another BMW dealer) which is:

A. A copy of the company/cash allowance policy stating the employee’s cash allowance and entitlement.
B. A listed Director email confirming employee ‘x’ is in receipt of an allowance in lieu of the provision of a
traditional company vehicle.
C. A copy of the employee’s contract stating that the car is required for the employee’s role.

Can I as an individual get a lease in this scenario? If not, is it possible as an individual without any company related _support_ get a car on lease?

N.B. I am a director of my own company but i don't wish to put this on the company or my P11D. I want the lease to be on me as an individual and not related to my company at all.

Thanks in advance.

This is usually a stipulation for BMW leases through Alphabet - who are a subsidiary of BMW. I guess they do it to protect more lucrative PCP business from individual customers.

If your a director of your own company just write a letter stating you receive a car allowance from the business. It’s still a personal lease and nothing to do with the company.

Ah fair enough, thanks for clearing it up... now to try find some lease deals (which is proving to be pretty difficult!)

I had this from Alphabet, and Arval to get business rates as business rates + vat were better than the personal rates.
Sounds like you might need to pay yourself a car allowance.
