Hi Guys

Just a quick question as I’ve never purchased a used car from a main dealer.

I’ve found a used Merc E-Class up for £25,000 at a main dealer.

What realistically can I expect to be discounted off the car if I pay cash? I’m not interested in a finance deal.

Why would you expect a discount for cash? Serious question by the way.

You might be a better deal by taking finance (and any incentives) then clearing the finance soon afterwards.

^ This. You need to spend hours in there getting the deposit and monthly payments as low as possible. Watch the total amount borrowed figure. Then clear that by Withdrawing from the deal a few days after you collect the car, so you'll have paid that, plus any deposit.

I’ve always thought that there was a little bit of wiggle room in the dealship prices.

I’ll have to have a read up about going for finance and then settling it a few days later.
