Need a new car for the Mrs, decided not to lease as right now the deals are sparse. I googled it and got a load of click bait mainly from Car Wow so does anyone know the best way to find what deals the makers have on at any given time?

Cheers

Does 0 percent mean list price? Might it be cheaper to find a better price via a broker and a bank loan. Or take dealer finance and pay it off in order to obtain manufacturers support?
I only buy bargain basement cars so have zero experience in this market.

confused

That’s pretty presumptuous. Please don’t tell me you’re another “you bought on finance therefore you can’t afford it” vigilante.

A colleague bought a BMW on 0% finance back in March. He also got over 30% off list....

I looked at a 5 series in the summer on 0%. They were offering around 20% off list in addition.

I was told explicitly that the finance rate was set as an offer by BMW themselves, it had nothing to do with the dealer. The dealer then negotiated the purchase price as a separate factor.
The list price they offered was the same on 0% finance or when the 0% offer expired a few days later.

You guess wrong, Car Wow plus the 0% offer works just fine.

If thats on new cars, then it would be through the manufacturer, so should be avail across all of the dealer network.

If its on used cars, they're funding it themselves somehow, so their cars might be more expensive to cover it.

No, 0% on a new car is usually on top of all other discounts available. As has been said BMW were doing it on the three series recently and there were still 30% discounts available on top of that.

SEAT currently doing 0% across most of their range. Headline discount not as good as their 6.5% rate as there is no 'contribution' from SEAT. However, the dealers are still offering some discount (there's also a £500 SEAT funded discount). The zero rate more than offsets the contribution due to the lack of interest to pay.

Yes, from Drive the Deal's website -

"The quoted prices include a £2,750 deposit contribution which is conditional upon you taking out PCP finance at 6.5% APR Representative over 18 to 48 months with a 0% - 30% deposit arranged by the dealer. If you do not wish to take out this finance, then you are entitled to a £2,500 Registration support in lieu of the deposit contribution shown above. Please add £250 to the discounted price shown, if you are looking to pay cash.

Seat are also marketing PCP finance at 0% APR Representative over 18 to 48 months with a 10% minimum deposit. However, you will lose some of the discount quoted if you take this finance product instead of either Cash purchase or 6.5% APR PCP finance."

Worth playing with figures there to see which works out best.

Mrs has been looking at a 1.5DSG Ateca and was quoted £310 a month with a 3k deposit.
PCP, with the same deposit was £370ish a month.
