Very Cheap Auto
Discussion
Long story short the Mrs has just passed her auto test and needs to get to work.
I bought her a new Cooper S over the weekend but she is too nervous to drive it so I'm going to have that as my daily then she can use it when she wants and take it when she's a bit more confident. Good news for me as I was surprised how much I love it!
Just something pretty small and reliable and as cheap as possible. Sub 2k at the least. Ideally just be reliable for the next 6months/year. Doesn't need any bells and whistles really. No gigantic barges. Probably focus sized or smaller.
I've seen a few fiestas and corsas for not much over a grand but hoping to get some first hand experience. Cheers!

Too nervous to drive? How likely is she to be safe in any kind of emergency situation?
What the hell is this you absolute weirdo?I think its an affinity thing. Those that lack a natural liking or understanding of something is often shown through nervousness or anxiety.
Some people are just not suited to driving and, just as some shouldn't be allowed near potentially deadly equipment such as a chainsaw or shotgun etc., that type of person forced into that situation, by the necessity to commute for instance, can be a danger.
Does that make me a weirdo, too

My auto toyota bB is incredibly easy to drive, 4 speed ECT auto box, yaris T-sport 1.5 vvti engine.
Should be able to pick one up for £2k or less.
Will add it to the list! She went and had a look at a Beetle. But I'm not really sure how reliable they were? Worth considering or no?Should be able to pick one up for £2k or less.
I still like the look of Jazz/Civic. A couple of the recommendations seemed difficult to find in budget

Considering you came here because I laughed in the thread where you post such pathetic insight as:I think its an affinity thing. Those that lack a natural liking or understanding of something is often shown through nervousness or anxiety.

?"Clothes are important. They make you what you are.
For me, this season its a black cashmere overcoat, black brogue boots, tab collar shirt, waistcoat and silver pocket watch and a herringbone Failsworth cap.
Peaky fking Blinders !
Or it could be an Aquascutum raincoat, Winchester shirt, dark jeans and Trickers boots. Or I may do the Mod thing, Loafers and Harrington etc....
I even have a proper pair of military overalls for cutting the lawns, painting or tending to the classic, not a rag bag collection of old sweatshirts and 'tracky bottoms'....get a grip.
Out with the dog and its a Barbour Border, Tattershall shirt and green wellies.
Look around, most people 'dress to unimpress' - how disappointed they must be with themselves."
Yeah I'd say you're pretty f
kin' weird tbh. Get back in your box and get a life. This has almost been the perfect PH bingo thread so far:
Mazda MX5 - Check!
Suzuki Swift - Check!
ZX10 producing an informed list as long as your arm within 5 posts - Check!
Questioning driver's ability - Check! (bonus points if it's a woman)
Just waiting on "How are you going to fund it?" for the full house!
