Evening,

the mrs' Vauxhall Agila looks like it's going to fail MOT at enough cost to make us think about updating to something newer (it's a 2001 model in a lovely rose pink).

She loves the fact it's small, tall, voluminous, but would like a little more power. New car needs to be 5 door, manual, it doesn't do a lot of miles, used for shopping, dog carrying, garden waste etc & she is not remotely precious about it....

So some alternative ideas please, otherwise suspect we're in for another one....although hopefully not in pink....

Thanks

Matthew

Something Japanese probably,

Honda Jazz/Civic
Suzuki Alto / Wagon R
Toyota Yaris / Yaris Verso / Corolla
Daihatsu Charade / Terios
Nissan Micra / Almera
Mitsubishi Colt

A Ford Fusion might be worth a look, or seeing as the Agila has been a good car - a Meriva.

Thanks all, and yes I've been more lurky than intended!!

I was pretty much at one of the various Japanese options, the only other option that jumps out is a Fiat Panda..

Pug 1007 sometimes turn up at this price. No idea if any good but shape seems similar.

Sliding door looks pretty cool!

Maybe a 2nd gen?

Same deal with a different badge?

A Panda would work, a 1.2 without the climate control and check the back axle first should just keep going.

If she likes the Vauxhall Agila, then whatever you get will seem amazing in comparison.

Vauxhall Agila is a horrible little car

Almera Tino 1.8 petrol.

I had one for 4 years and put 60k miles on it. It only ever went to a garage for MOT tests. £40 every 6 months to change the oil and filters. Cheap 15 inch tyres. 35 mpg.
Boot was big enough for 2 dogs and the rear seats are 3 individual ones which can be removed, which makes for a 2 seater van.
£1k would get a good one, if there are any good ones left.
