325d Vs 330d Vs 335d

Evening Gassers!
Looking for a bit of advice on the above. I would potentially be looking at getting one of the 3 mentioned later in the year as my daily driver in 'touring' format, E90 shape either pre- or post-facelift (LCI?).
What would be people's car of choice? Pros and cons of each variant? Things to look out for?
I'm not all that clued up on BMW's so just after a bit of an insight into what they're like to live with/maintain/fuel/run etc.
Thanks in advance!

Recently sold a 335d coupe (2007) for a family member and to be fair I found it quite lacking, there is huge lag in the engine and there are lots of things to go wrong which cost big time!
Yes you can tune them, remove DPF, EGR etc but just google some of the costs they can thrown up, the 35d is a particularly complex engine.
Depends if you really ‘need’ a diesel but my advice would be to look for a 330i or 325i much nicer sounding engine, no turbo complications and cost difference could quickly be reduced when you factor in maintenance costs, pump prices etc.

Just had a quick look but not knowing your budget look at this comparison -

Cost difference alone buys quite a lot of petrol, not to mention how much nicer it sounds!

Sweet spot if you need diesel is post LCI (2009 onwards) 330d.
N57 engine replaced M57 in 330 (and 325) but not in 335. Rated at 245bhp which is generally considered to have been a bit conservative by BMW, no swirl flap issues, better economy than M57 and really not a lot slower than the 335.

If you drive the 335D, you wont want any of the others. Its an epic engine.
Tons of grunt and easily manages mid 40s on a run
Never saw 40+ in mine more than 100k commuting miles.

Thermostats, glow plugs, vacuum pipes fail regularly meaning they rarely run to their optimum.
Also prone to oil leaks which are costly to sort out.
The premium E90 335ds seem to command over a 330d/330i is crazy to me.
OP, if you buy one make sure it has been maintained properly.

or 2010+ 325d, as it has the identical engine to the 330d, just needs a map loaded to bring it even (or better)N57 engine replaced M57 in 330 (and 325) but not in 335. Do you want a manual or an auto? If you want a manual gearbox you can rule out the 335d as I'm pretty sure they are all autos!
I'm assuming you do enough miles a year to make a diesel the better option, in which case why would you want a 325d if you like a bit of fun?
I only do 6 or 7K a year so when I was looking for a Touring last year I managed to find a manual 325i E91. It's a pre-facelift so has the earlier N52 engine, which seems to have less issues than the later petrols. I'd have loved a 330i, but they were all about twice the price.
But despite being an 06 plate it's still OK for the London ULEZ, which many of the diesels won't be - although that's only a potential issue if you live in the South East!
Good luck anyway.
