Hi there thinking of buying a 307 1.6 hdi 2007 with around 136.000 miles on the clock can anyone suggest what I should be looking for and checking when viewing the car?

You should be checking the classifieds for something different.

Otherwise, make sure its got a full service history with servicing no more than every 10k but ideally every 5-6k. The elloys tank is full if fitted. There is no smoke or carbon build up around the injectors. Lastly you are going to use it as per diesels were designed, either long runs not for popping to the shops or for ploughing fields.

Don't buy one of these. Buy a Focus or virtually anything else instead.

Isn't this pretty much the least reliable diesel engine in pretty much the least reliable car you can buy?

Haha that gave me a good laugh, +1 on the Focus. These really are awful now at this age - the electrics have serious issues at the best of times!

Even if you only pay a few hundred quid they will need a list the length of your arm to keep running let alone get through an mot.
