Hi there, hoping someone may have experience buying or selling a car without seeing it.
selling my car to a guy who's wanting it to get transported by a service. We've made a deal but I don't know what to do with the v5 as i need to sign it and along with the buyer and send it away. don't really want to sent the document down because who knows what could happen.

any help appreciated
cheers

You could do the online thing, and pop the new keeper bit in the glovebox. You are getting full payment via bank transfer, or checked cash, yes? PayPal or Western Union are not your friends.

You can do a change of owner online these days, no need to send the V5 off.

Make sure you get the agreed price in your account and cleared before it's collected. If he pays you too much and asks you to refund the driver it's a scam.

I did it breaking (almost) every rule in the book on a sale I did on eBay.

The car I sold was a Mk3 Mondeo V6 (Wish I never sold it now as it was lovely). I sold the car for if I recall around £1500 so fairly low value, The seller messaged me before the auction ended telling me his plan and we spoke on the phone, I judged him to sound very genuine, oldish guy quite a distance away from me. We talked about the car, I told him it';s good and bad points and he paid via bank transfer and had a recovery guy collect the car a few days later. I completed the transfer of sale with the DVLA on the details he gave me and I never heard from him again apart from the positive feedback.

I'd never recommend anyone else does a sale this way, and I wouldn't myself if the car was higher value but it did work for me
