Aston vs something else - What would you buy?
Discussion
So, I didn't know which forum section to put this in, so put it here for comments because I know there is a truck load of petrol/pistonheads here.
Many of us own more than one car, because, different purposes right? So I have (had) a Defender and a.n.other car which is usually a fast sport type. Last summer I swapped out of a B8 RS4 because the seats were so uncomfortable (optional wing back Recaros). After a bit of decision I plumped for a stunning Aston Martin Vantage N420 manual coupe. Which is just amazing. Lovely, lovely car.
So what's the problem?
Well, before winter my Defender went back because the turbo died a week after getting it and I haven't replaced it yet. The upshot being I'm driving the Aston all the time. Luckily I walk to work so it stays in the garage most of the time. But it still gets used way more than I expected to. Now, I am not a small a person. Lets just get this out of the way. I'm just over 6ft and fat. And Fifty. So, the Aston isn't the easiest of fits (and again, optional carbon sports seats).
So, my dilemma. The Aston is my ultimate car. It's an Aston. It's silver grey and blah blah. I can't afford a Lambo or Ferrari and I've had a 911 (and didn't like that). But I'm wondering if I should get something different and let the Aston go somewhere for someone to love it.
Sort list is;
Mercedes C63
or
Vauxhall VXR8 (Holden HSV) manual probably supercharged.
The Merc because it's well built and newer. Possibly an estate because I'm nuts and like the space when you suddenly need to move a wardrobe.
The HSV because I love odd stuff, and there are way fewer than the C63. Plus looks (prefer the Aussie to German) manual which isn't available in Merc. And if I got a blower version, that blower scream. Plus, y'know, Bathurst 1000.
So, there you have it. Do I stick with the Aston on the grounds ITS AN ASTON Blue, you idiot. Or, do I look for something different, because, well. I can.
Caveats;
Need to seat 4 people. I'm divorced, no kids so I drive myself. Number of times I need 4 seats? Half dozen per year. Coupe works. Don't like convertibles.
Needs to do 250 miles on one tank effortlessly with a reasonable comfort and good audio.
Needs to do sub 5 seconds to 60 and 150+ (for bragging rights and Germany of course)
Needs to go in my garage
Needs to have a V8
MPG not really an issue but 20 is acceptable. Aston does 26 on a run & 22 average.
Think I've covered it.
Comments (good and bad, try not to be too personal eh?)

I knew I missed something out
Budget is about £25-30k.
Been and done the M5 thing (and M3) although both had the straight six engine (e28 & e46).
Love the Alfa Quadrifunghithingy. But not sure I could stand the depreciation.
Bently, yeah. I love the interior, but the exterior leaves me midly sedated.
