Looking to buy a car that twice a week will do 120 mile trip economy and reliability is the most important, I am not to worried about comfort as I drive a sprinter for about 6 hours a day, just want enough legroom as I am 6 1

Buy a W210 Mercedes if you can find one that's a diesel and not rusty. Dead simple to work on, super comfortable and reliable.

Jettas are generally a bit cheaper than Golfs but reliable and don't use much fuel!
