Lotus to Maserati - Thoughts?
Discussion
I’ve owned a Lotus of some description for the last 13 years, with my current fun car being a turbocharged Elise S1. It’s absolutely insane and faster than fast. However I really fancy the sound of a V8 ...
I’ve been looking at TVR Chimaeras, but just the other day, a Maserati GranTurismo roared past and it sounded fantastic! It’s quite a different car to the Lotus, but potentially more refined with perfectly acceptable performance, albeit with an amazing soundtrack.
It looks as though prices start at £20K. At this price point, am I asking for trouble? I understand replacement variators can be expensive - around £3K. If this job has been done, is it likely they will need replacing again?
Is the MC Shift really worth the extra? It looks as though this variant has clutch issues. Any suggestions on getting the best from the exhaust? Larini X Pipe?
