Porsche Cayenne 958.1 GTS vs Turbo

Hi all,

Will be in the position fairly soon to purchase another vehicle and due to 2 dogs & getting fed up of owning inpractical cars which i then end up keeping all of about 6 months (C63, 997 C2s, Z4 35is) ive been looking at a number of Luxury SUV's to replace with.

I have considered the RRS 3.0 SDV6 (14 plate onwards) & the X5 M50d (X5m is out of budget) and then the cayenne came to mind.

I love having a powerful car and with prices on 12 plate GTS & Turbo being under 35k now, both could be a good match.

I just wondered, what one?

I can read all the stats and figures again & again and the turbo is of course quicker, but what can the GTS do over the turbo?

Is the suspension set up different? I love a NA engine myself but have read people saying the GTS can feel a little underwhelming, anyone had an 1st hand experience of this?

Any other noticeable differences apart from the obvious turbos strapped to it.

The suspension setup on the GTS is better making the GTS a better drivers car but the downside is that you have to work the engine more which then means you end up with similar fuel numbers to the Turbo at which point most buy (I've sourced a fair few of both) the Turbo because in reality they won't be driving a 2+ ton SUV in that manner.

Not quite the same, because mine is way older - but :

I have an old Cayenne S - and despite most people saying "should have bought the turbo" - I've never ever wished I had the turbo (6 years of ownership). Mine feels quick, and I still enjoy driving it - despite assuming it would bore me to death when I bought it.
