Car for the oldies
Discussion
In-laws need a new car, budget 10k, they do about 5k per year, mostly long runs (3 - 4 hours), new as possible, cheap to maintain, low tax, ULEZ etc etc
Has to be no bigger than a current model Golf as it has to fit in their garage, ideally smaller
5 door, boot big enough for a Labrador
Petrol & automatic, with air con, parking sensors but not too much tech
They've always had Fords, but they are put off by the Powershift & ecoboost issues (avid Honest John readers, which doesn't help)
My immediate thought was a Yeti, but they aren't keen ... I think the boot is going to be an issue
Volvos of that age look really dated, Mokka maybe? Mini clubman / countryman, Pug 2008 looks OK
Suggestions please!

I'd say a Kia in either Ceed in either 3/4 spec:

3

Or the Rio in 3 trim:

The real VFM option is the new shape Astra they're going for very sensible money, you'll have to get the tape measure out though.
